Knitting Machines and more
Ideal for the home machine knitter!
I don't hand knit and barely know how to crochet. So I purchased my first Silver Reed Knitting Machine and
Design-a-Knit 8 (DAK8) in 2012 to use the wonderful yarn from my alpacas. The collection of machines has grown - up to FIVE machines in regular use! I am an authorized Silver Reed dealer and I spend much of my spare time designing, knitting and introducing the wonderful world of machine knitting via teaching! Contact me for pricing and model availability. I very occasionally have used machines available as well. |
The basicsThe basic premise of knitting machine is that each stitch / needle becomes a chain stitch, much like crocheting! But many needles are in work one after the other so it goes much faster than knitting by hand!
|
Knitting MachinesThere are three main sizes of knitting machines. Since one can't change the size of the needle as in hand knitting, different machines work with different weight yarns.
