My husband, Blaine, and I, Margit, live on a small acreage in Erie, CO in SW Weld County and just 20 miles north of metro-Denver along with our two crazy mini-Australian Shepherds and 14 hens. Our Great Pyrenees (GP) livestock guardian dog (LGD), Ocho, passed away late October 2020 at 11.5 years of age. He worked until the very end and he is dearly missed. We helped with early training of a GP puppy for another alpaca farm and he went to his "furever" home summer 2021.
We started with a small herd of imports and first generation brown alpacas. Over the years, we migrated to white and beige huacaya alpacas, which were bred selectively and thoughtfully to produce amazing fleece. Almost all the alpacas are off to their new homes - which are carefully vetted and mentored. I have many skeins of white DK weight 200 yard skeins and "Learn to Dye" kits with 3 acid dyes 2 skeins of yarn. I manufacture custom knit alpaca scarves, baby blankets, and shawls. I am a dealer and instructor for Silver Reed Knitting machines and manufacturer of Silver Needles Cone Winders.
And for all your yarn needs, I sell Tamm Yarns to local area knitters- ideal for machine knitting of wash and wear items plus imported Peruvian alpaca yarn. I have large quantities of DK weight white alpaca yarn in 200 yard skeins, ready for dyeing!
Why?
We are blessed with 5 gorgeous acres of Colorado with unobstructed views of the Rockies from Pikes Peak all the way up to the Wyoming border. It's a wonderful story that I'd be happy to share with you.
