Alpacas were the genesis of PacaKnits but 2021 was the end of that era. Time to focus exclusively on Machine Knitting (with alpaca yarn!) and cone winders. It was a wonderful journey. Look through the photos for our history.
Silver Reed knitting machines for sale and classes
The Silver Reed Knitting Machine is the only series of home knitting machines still in active production. While not all of their older models are available as new products, this does give them an edge over their other brands where parts may no longer be available. The Silver Reed Knitting Machines are Japanese made and have been distributed under the names of Singer knitting machines, Studio, Empisal, and KnitMaster.
Silver needles cone winder -If you are a weaver, sock or machine knitter, yarn dyer, spinner, or fiber artist in general, this is an amazing tool and one customer called it revolutionary! However, I am not accepting new orders until supply chain issues are resolved and and all current orders are fulfilled. I hope this is a relatively short break. If you are already on the waiting list, I'll update you when I can. The SN200 winder is custom built with custom parts and major parts come from the USA and all assembly is done in Colorado.

We started with a small herd of imports and first generation brown alpacas. Over the years, we migrated to white and beige huacaya alpacas, which were bred selectively and thoughtfully to produce amazing fleece. All the alpacas are off to their new homes - which were carefully vetted and mentored. I manufacture custom knit alpaca scarves, baby blankets, and shawls. I am a dealer and instructor for Silver Reed Knitting machines and manufacturer of Silver Needles Cone Winders...
